Comparative study on the macroscopic and film finding in the endoscopic examination

Abstract

|
In this report, 33 cases of gastric ulcer and 89 cases of gastric malignant tumor were examined through the endoscopy. Then, macroscopic observation through the endoscopy were compared with the film findings taken by intra-gastric camera method. The results are as follows.
81.8 per cent of case of gastric ulcer, 55. 5 per cent of early gastric cancer, 91.0 per cent of advanced gastric cancer and 75.0 per cent of gastric sarcoma by macroscopic observation were in accordance with the film findings. Error was found distinctly in early gastric cancer. So, on performing the endoscopic examination, the macroscopic observation must be followed by the film findings without fail.
